Termination of Pregnancy
facts and information

What it Costs

The receptionist will advise you of the cost of the procedure when you make your booking.

Medicare covers some of the costs of the termination, but there is a fee gap that you will generally be responsible for paying. The fee charged depends on the procedure (e.g. what sort of anaesthetic is used) and individual circumstances - for example if you have a Medicare card or are a visitor from overseas, if you are a student or pensioner, and/or if you have private health insurance.

Don't forget to bring in any relevant cards/papers on the day, along with your payment. Preterm accepts credit cards (Mastercard, Bankcard and Visa) or EFTPOS payments as well as cash.

See Frequently Asked Questions also, which answers the most common questions we receive about termination.
